Our 8 Top Planning Tips!

8 Planning Tips - Scope Planner

Here's our 8 top planning tips!

  1. Create and keep a master task list [I love using a leather journal. I take it everywhere with me to capture my notes and thoughts!]. Write everything, personal and professional into your master task list.
  2. PAY [Prioritise Activities for Yield] from your Master Task List into your daily and weekly to-do-list. Estimate your available blocks of time and allocate tasks accordingly.
  3. Plan your breaks and reward time in your schedule so you don’t go stale; plan to enjoy yourself everyday.
  4. Discuss priorities with the people they affect; always keep the team informed of your progress and priorities. You may consider using a cloud based project management app so that your team can collaborate together in real time. Publicise your schedule so people know what you’re working on and prioritising.
  5. Devote less energy to non-critical tasks; stay focused on your goals. You cannot make more time; you can only take it away from less important tasks, so make sure you delegate or ditch non important tasks.
  6. Set deadlines before items are actually due; this way you stay in front and avoid any last minute panic.
  7. Plan 'chaos' time... expect the unexpected to happen everyday and plan for it. Build in fire breaks so you don't get behind and over commit.
  8. Learn to say 'No' so that you remain focused on achieving your goals.

Scope Vision, 34 Colombard Lane, The Vines, WA, 6069

After being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at 29, MJ knew her journey was going to be unique!

No way was she going to waste any of her years working 9-5 under poor leadership! She seized the opportunity to become an independent worker; starting her own Registered Training Organisation, Scope Vision.

MJ’s curiosity into what drives people, and businesses, to achieve success has been the passion recognised in her award-winning business. The drive to continue to train and embrace lifelong learning has been her key to success, and she wants to see this happen for others.

20 years on, the passion and curiosity she’s used to shape the businesses she works with, and her longevity in these relationships have inspired her to think about the future of work; what this will mean for workers in general and indeed her own business. Find out more about MJ
